Hi, I'm
Edgar Heinz.
As a communication designer I build durable, structured and beautiful bridges between people and information.
I was born in Karaganda (Kazakhstan). At the age of 2, my family and I moved to the small German town Geesthacht. After my 21st birthday, I moved to Hamburg to start my studies in Communication Design at HAW Hamburg.
During my studies, I did a 6 months internship in the award-winning advertising agency Jung von Matt in Hamburg, Germany. In my role as an Art Direction intern, I worked for different clients including Sixt, GE, Edeka, Zalando, and Daimler.
Apart from that, I had quite a few interesting jobs during my studies. My main job was working at an elementary school in the Hafencity Hamburg. In those 5.5 years, I learned a lot about myself and improved and developed skills in empathy, teamwork, confidence, justice, etc. Those kids taught me more than I could imagine before starting this job. Next to daily routines like going for lunch with them I also got the chance to give courses that the kids could choose from. I gave courses in drawing, Lego architecture, basketball, "Little Explorers" and more.
From 2017 until the end of 2020 I was working at Wunder Mobility in Hamburg, Germany. As the first designer in the marketing team, my main task was to create a holistic branding and a corresponding guideline for a uniform, authentic, and consistent branding. By introducing a style of illustration that since then is being used in apps, websites, ads, animations, etc., I successfully made Wunder easy to recognize and identify with. Over time I became responsible for many other areas like event design, advertising, web design, merchandise, animations, and the creation of presentations. Currently, I focus primarily on web design.
Since January 2021 I'm working at THINKS Design GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. As a senior communication designer, I manage a small team of working students and interns. I coordinate both internal and external projects. This includes planning, distributing tasks, executing and designing, leading meetings and the complete communication with clients. Additionally, I am responsible for the branding and packaging design for our internal products of STRYVE GmbH. I also redesigned the website of THINKS Design GmbH and am in charge of it.
