Born in Karaganda (Kazakhstan), raised in Geesthacht, then off to Hamburg to study: I studied communication design at HAW Hamburg, did an internship at Jung von Matt along the way and worked at a primary school for five and a half years. The children taught me more about empathy and teamwork than any seminar.

After that I mostly worked as an in-house designer. At Wunder Mobility I built the brand and its illustration style as the first designer in marketing, at THINKS Design I led a small team and set the visual direction for the existing sports brand STRYVE, from packaging and campaigns to the online shop. At halpy I was design lead, responsible for everything from print to app, and most recently I developed the brand further at awork.

Since November 2026 I've been freelancing full time, and on the side since 2024 for a number of clients, among them the tax and audit firm Quint, the ON PHYSIO practice and the restoration company Resilio. What I take away from all those years: a brand has to work in everyday life, not just in the presentation.

Away from the desk I love spending time with my wife and my daughter, travelling, hiking or diving. I play basketball and poker, meet up with friends, love going to the cinema and eat my way through the world's cuisines. Music is always part of it, and I love One Piece, both the manga and the anime. And when I'm not designing, I'm building: renovations at home, lamps, sculptures or small pieces of furniture.
