Flaschenhut
Brand Design, Print Design, Product Design, 2017
Flaschenhut is my bachelor thesis: an upcycling product made of bottle caps, complete with its own brand identity.
The bottle caps are arranged on a fixed grid to form images. The motifs and the grid they are built on are the basis for the entire visual identity.
Logos
Each image gets its own logo, derived from its motif, which underlines that every image is one of a kind. The result is a dynamic identity that runs through all applications.

Website
The website explains the product: which images are available, how to create your own motif and how to donate with your bottle caps, because part of the proceeds goes to charities or upcycling projects. To keep everything consistent, the web design is built on the same grid as the images.
OOH: Posters
The identity includes a poster campaign with five motifs. Each one pairs a possible image motif with a few words describing the product, and that sparks curiosity. At the bottom is the website address, where you can find out what Flaschenhut is all about.
Collection box
For the images to be produced quickly and on time, there always have to be enough bottle caps in stock. That is what the collection box is for. It is intended for bars, restaurants, cafés, canteens and other places where drinks with bottle caps are sold. Staff then no longer throw the caps in the bin but into the box. Once a week it is picked up and swapped for an empty one.

Coasters
Coasters serve as another piece of advertising: they introduce Flaschenhut right at the bar, over a drink. On the back you can capture your first spontaneous idea for a motif and take it home.
