halpy Web Design

Web Design, Illustration, 2026

halpy is a home-care service based in Lübeck with further locations in Kiel, Preetz and Groß Grönau. As Design Lead I was responsible for its entire appearance from late 2023 to mid-2026.

I redesigned the website and built it in Wix Studio myself: around 25 pages and templates plus a blog with about 80 articles. It has to serve two groups at once: people looking for care and people who want to work in care.

Home

Within a few screens the home page answers the key questions: what does halpy offer, how good is the care, and how do I get help? Audit grades and Google reviews therefore sit right below the opening.

Soft shapes, plenty of white space and the brand's calm blues give the site its friendly tone.

Accessibility

People looking for care are often older themselves, whether relatives or the seniors in person. That is why I paid attention to accessibility from the start: high contrast between text and background, a slightly larger type size, large buttons and a clear, calm page structure.

Images and illustrations carry descriptive alternative texts so that screen readers can convey them too, and long forms are broken down into short steps.

Services

Nine services, nine illustrations: for each care service I drew a motif of its own in the same line. The offer can be grasped at a glance without care looking like a hospital.

On the detail pages the content unfolds step by step, so nobody is overwhelmed by technical terms.

Locations

Each location has its own page with team, catchment area and contact details, generated from one shared template. Lübeck, Kiel, Preetz and Groß Grönau are recognisable by their landmarks, which I drew in the style of the service illustrations.

Phone Widget

Many relatives prefer to pick up the phone. I developed the widget myself through vibe coding and embedded it as a custom element: a button that follows along on every page and lets visitors dial each location with a single tap.

It knows what time it is: during office hours it shows “available now”, outside them it points to the e-mail address.

Jobs

The team maintains open positions in Personio. Through the Personio API they appear on the website automatically, as a list with filters for location and department and as a separate page per position, all from the same template.

Salaries are stated openly on the page, the application process is explained in six steps, and the form asks only for the essentials.

Team & Blog

The management team introduces itself on dedicated profile pages. The blog gathers care knowledge for relatives, searchable and sorted by topic.

Brochures

What is basic care, how does an advisory visit work, what does everyday support cover? The brochures answer such questions in a few pages and can be downloaded from the website, built like the pages themselves: a cover with image and audit grades, followed by clearly organised pages with boxes, checklists and tables.

Mobile

Every page is laid out specifically for the smartphone: large buttons, short paths and the phone button always within reach of the thumb.
