Flaschenhut
Concept   |   Branding   |   Product Design   |   Advertising
As part of my bachelor thesis, I developed an upcycling product called Flaschenhut and created a holistic branding around it.
Flaschenhut is an upcycling product made of bottle caps. Images are created from the bottle caps according to a certain grid. The motives of the pictures and the grid on which they are based serve as the basis for the design concept of the overall visual appearance.
Logos
Each of these images gets its own logo to emphasize the uniqueness of the images which is created from the motif. This creates a dynamic appearance and reflects this in the individual applications.
Website
On the website of Flaschenhut, you can learn more about the product: which pictures are available, how to create your own motif, and how to donate with bottle caps because a part of the proceeds will be donated to other charity organizations or upcycling projects. To keep consistency throughout the whole CI the web design is based on the same grid that the images are made of.
OOH – Posters
To match the rest of the CI, I developed a poster campaign with five motifs. Short descriptive attributes of the product in combination with a possible motif should arouse the curiosity of the potential customer. At the bottom of the poster is the website's domain, so that it is possible to look up exactly what Flaschenhut is all about.
Collection box
To ensure efficient and timely production of desired images, it is a prerequisite to have sufficient bottle caps in stock at all times. The collection box should be placed in bars, restaurants, cafes, refectories, and other public places where beverages with bottle caps are sold. Employees of restaurants and cafés will no longer dispose of the bottle caps in the trash can but will throw them into the collection box. This box will be collected and replaced with an empty collection box every week.
Coasters
As a further advertising measure, the potential customer can get to know the Flaschenhut product directly during his drink at the bar and unleash his/her creativity. On the back of the coasters, the potential customer can capture his first spontaneous idea and take it home with him/her.
